Dear Lawrence County Community,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying some summer sunshine. I am excited to have been chosen to serve as the next Superintendent of Lawrence County Schools.  I will start this new role on July 1st. As a graduate of Lawrence County High School and resident of Lawrence County, this is a true honor. I deeply appreciate the board’s faith in me.

I also want to thank Dr. Fletcher for his strong leadership as superintendent over the past decade. His work has been inspiring, and I wish him the very best in his new role as Kentucky’s Commissioner of Education.

Having served as Chief Academic Officer in our district for the last three years, I’ve seen firsthand the hard work and dedication our staff brings every day. My vision for our schools is simple: high standards for all, respect for everyone, and giving our best every day.

I’m excited to work with you all to keep moving Lawrence County and our schools forward. Let’s build on our successes and create even more opportunities for our students and staff and community. Your ideas and feedback are important to me, so please feel free to reach out anytime.

In July, there will also be “Meet the New Superintendent” events at our schools.  The dates and times for these will be announced soon on our websites and social media.  I hope you can attend. I look forward to meeting you for the first time or getting to know you even better.

I am humbled to have this opportunity to serve our kids and our staff.  I appreciate your support as we move forward together in Lawrence County.

Sincerely,

Katie Hatfield-Webb
