Martin County native snags Grammy Award nomination
MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – Lawrence County native Tyler Childers was not the only Eastern Kentuckian to snag a Grammy Award nomination on Wednesday.
Martin County native Angaleena Presley’s country trio, Pistol Annies, was nominated for Best Country Album with their album “Interstate Gospel”.
Other nominations for the category include Eric Church’s “Desperate Man”, Reba McEntire’s “Stronger Than The Truth”, Thomas Rhett’s “Center Point Road” and Tanya Tucker’s “While I’m Livin'”.
When the nominations were announced, the trio posted the news on Facebook. They wrote, “Nearly a decade of friendship, laughs, fights, smiles, sad and happy tears. We are so grateful to the Recording Academy/Grammys for nominating #InterstateGospel for Country Album of the year.”
The Pistol Annies’ “Interstate Gospel” album was released in November 2018. The country music group, made up of Presley, Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe, was formed in 2011.
