Huntington, W. Va. — The Lawrence Co. Youth Football B-Team captures Turf Bowl Championship on Saturday at Marshall University.

In the second game of the day the Express came from behind to spoil the Bulldogs undefeated season. 

 

 

Eli Block put the Dawgs ahead with a 13 yard touchdown with 1:49 left in the first period.

 

 

On the opening drive of the third quarter D-C took the lead on a 40 yard touchdown and two point pass play to lead 8-6 with 5:27 left in the third quarter.

Lawrence Co. 30 D-C 8 ( B-Team ) 

In the third game of the day the Dawgs routed the Express to win the Turf Bowl.

 

 

Tucker Muncy to Brayson Raines on fourth and goal for a 8 yard touchdown and Raines for the 2 point conversion 7:54 2nd 

 

 

65 yard touchdown on the first play and Carter Tubbs 2 point good 7:39 left 2nd 

 

 

The Dawgs ran a trick play when Blaine Williams took a backwards pass from Tucker Muncy and hit Brayson Raines for 39 yards yard pass down to the 1 yard line and called timeout with one second left in the half and Raines punched it in after the timeout on the final play of the first half to make it 14-8. 

 

 

 

 

In the third quarter Raines scored from 39 yards out and then found Tucker Muncy for the two point conversion to make it 22-8 Dawgs. 

 

 

Lucas Block put the finishing touches on the Turf Bowl victory with a 24 yard touchdown run and Muncy hit Tucker Dixon for the two point conversion and it was 30-8 Bulldogs.

Wayne 18 Lawrence Co. 14 ( A-Team ) 

In the final game of the day the Pioneers pinned the first loss of the season on the Bulldogs.

 

 

 

Carson Evans scampered 78 yards for a touchdown with 1:45 to go in the first quarter gave the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead. 

 

 

 

Jaxon Mills found Ty Stiltner for a 12 yard to even up the score with 5:02 to go in the first half. 

 

 

With just under a minute left in the first half Evans connected with a wide open Keagan Muncy who went 84 yards for a touchdown and Evans found Levi Hensley for the two point conversion and the Dawgs led 14-6.

 

 

 

Wayne tried to answer before the half but Muncy intercepted a pass and the halftime score was 14-6. 

 

 

 

 

 

Late in the third quarter Wayne cut into the Bulldog lead when Mills 1 sneak in from 1 yard out to make it 14-12. 

 

 

With around 3 minutes left in the ballgame Mills once again had a 1 yard touchdown and Wayne led 18-14. 

 

 

 

Lawrence Co. had one more chance but was stopped around the Wayne 40 yard line on fourth down and the Pioneers ran the clock out. 

 

 

It has been an unbelievable season for the Lawrence Co. Youth Football League. The four teams had a combined record of 32-6 during the 2024 Season.
