Ralph Maynard, 61, of Lovely, Kentucky; was arrested on January 28, 2018, at 10:03 P.M., by deputy M. Adams of the Martin County Sheriff Department,and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 2ND DEGREE.
According to a press release report by the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, on Sunday night, January 28, Ralph Maynard was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man who was trying to repossess a vehicle.
The victim (repo agent), told Martin County deputies that he went to an address on North Wolf Creek Road in the Lovely community of Martin County Sunday evening to repossess a vehicle. The report indicated that when the repo agent knocked on the door, Ralph Maynard allegedly kicked the door open at the repo agent, jumped out at him and tried to stab the repo agent in the chest.
The agent told deputies that he put his hands up to block the attack and was stabbed in his left hand. Deputies say the attack almost severed the repo agent’s pinky finger. Ralph Maynard was taken into custody by Martin County deputies and is facing a charge of 2nd Degree Assault, which is a Class C felony and carries a 5 to 10 yer sentence.
Ralph Maynard was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, where he remains incarcerated as of Wednesday morning January 31.
