COLLISION NEAR HOSPITAL TOOK THE LIFE OF PATRICA FRAZIER, 32, OF LOUISA

November 8, 2024 – Louisa, KY

At approximately 7:18 p.m. on November 7, 2024 the Lawrence County 911 Center dispatched first responders to a two-vehicle collision on KY 644 at the intersection of Meadowbrook Lane. Officers from the Louisa Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, along with emergency personnel from Patriot EMS and the Louisa Fire Department, arrived swiftly to provide immediate assistance to those involved.

During the extrication process, Louisa Fire Chief Eddie Preston requested an air medical evacuation. However, due to adverse weather conditions, the helicopter was unable to reach the scene and had to return.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Patrica Frazier, 32 of Louisa, was driving a 2011 Ford Fiesta when she pulled onto KY 644 from Meadowbrook Lane, mistakenly driving into oncoming traffic in the wrong lane. This action led to a collision with a 2017 Ford Escape, driven by James Fletcher, 41, also of Louisa. The injured parties were transported to Three Rivers Medical Center for further treatment.

Tragically, at approximately 2:22 a.m., Ms. Frazier succumbed to her injuries at Three Rivers Medical Center. The collision remains under investigation, with Sergeant Steven Wilburn and Patrol Officer Shelby Taylor leading the case.

Yates Wrecker Service removed the vehicles from the scene.
