LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) – A fire involving four structures late Friday afternoon in Louisa sent a man to the hospital and destroyed a home and nearby garage, firefighters at the scene said.

A firefighter also suffered heat exhaustion at the scene.

The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. on South Lock Avenue near Louisa East Elementary School. The home was occupied by Bobby and Peggy Cantrell, who were long time residents.

It also spread to two surrounding garages, which were damaged.

Firefighters said the resident who was injured suffered burns and smoke inhalation. That person was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center.

Two vehicles also were damaged.

A cause has not been determined.
