Leonard Garfield Vaughn, born May 9, 1945 to the late Albert and Ovella Vaughn in Colony, Alabama. He joined Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church at an early age.
He departed this life Thursday, November 4, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Vaughn was a business man for many years in Ashland, Kentucky. He was the owner and operator of various automobile services.
Leonard was the father of ten children, four of which preceded him in death: Jimmy Cohen, Bonita “Choppy” Butler, Tabitha “Lavene” Vaughn, and Tara Harris. He was preceded in death by his sisters Marvaline Vance, Edna Cole, and Jewell Munford and brothers Laurel Vaughn, Leudyia Vaughn, and Victor Vaughn.
He leaves to cherish his memories of 32 years of companionship with Tina Hord; two daughters: Deborah LaShawn Vaughn of Lexington, Kentucky and Melissa Hagler of Alabama; and four sons: Laurel Genial Vaughn of Ashland, Kentucky, Lovell Garfield Vaughn of Lexington, Kentucky, Leonard Eugene Vaughn of Lexington, Kentucky, and Darrell O’Neal Scott of Ashland, Kentucky.
His memories will also be cherished by one sister Odell Leeth of Cleveland, Ohio; and two brothers Eugene Vaughn and Laurice Vaughn of Colony, Alabama. He leaves behind two very special friends Anthony “Cotton” and Dexter Scott. He will be missed by 24 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and a countless number of relatives and dear friends. He is loved and will truly be missed by many more.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Christ Temple Church in Ashland, KY. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM with District Elder J. D. Crockrel officiating.
Mr. Vaughn’s family will receive friends on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Central Time at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 349 Colony Road, Hanceville, AL. Burial will follow in Colony Cemetery.
