STUDENT COMMENTS
“… Cheerleading has taught me more than I could put into words and I am so thankful I got to finish my cheer career with these titles. A big thank you to each teammate and coach that has been there every step of the way, as well as our community.”
LCHS Senior Faith Bradley
“… Getting to finish off my cheer career as a regional champion and a state runner up means the world to me. We are all thankful for our coaches and community for helping to make this possible.”
LCHS Senior Kiersten Pannell
“…This season has been hard, but the amount of work and dedication we put in was worth it. I have loved spending time with this team and taking home not only a 1st place trophy but a 2nd place one as well. We couldn’t have done it without our two amazing coaches! They have not only taught us valuable lessons in cheer, but also in life. They are two wonderful women who showcase their love for us and the Lord everyday. They have truly been a blessing these past 3 years. As for me, I’m sad I have to leave the red and black colors behind, but coming out with the title “region champs” and “state runner up” was truly the best way to end the year. “
LCHS Senior Whitney New
“… I’m thankful for the hard work my team put in this year and I’m happy to be finishing off my senior year with a regional championship and being second in the state. I’m very thankful for my coaches and everything they’ve taught me.”
LCHS Senior Emma Caldwell
“… I am thankful that everyone was so willing to put in the work it took this season and thankful that our coaches never gave up and believed in us. I’m happy to finish off my cheer career as a region champ and state runner up.”
Lawrence Co. Cheer Coach Larissa Skaggs
COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Simply making it this far this season was a huge accomplishment for this team. At one point we didn’t know if we were even going to compete. When we made the decision it was solely based off giving our girls the opportunity to have fun together one more time! They sure got to do that and some! We have spent hours in the gym to prepare for the regional and state competition with the main goal being…HAVE FUN AND ENJOY EVERY MOMENT! We knew it could be taken away at any moment, but these girls spent hours in the gym and kept pushing. Yesterday their hard work and dedication paid off with State Runner Up in the Super Large Division. It was THE BEST way to end our season with 5 seniors and 2 sophomores going on to college. They all deserved this!”
“…There are no words for what this team means to us coaches and what they mean to each other. It is more that cheerleading or championships…it’s truly a family and memories that will last forever.”
“… We are so excited to bring home the KHSAA Regional Champion & KHSAA State Runner Up trophies for LCHS!”
