LIBRARY BOARD MAKES DONATION TO LAWRENCE COUNTY SCHOOLS FOR DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY…

The Lawrence County Public Library had a Special Scheduled Monthly Meeting on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 5PM at the Lawrence County Public Library, 102 W. Main Street, Louisa, Kentucky. The Regular Scheduled Monthly Meeting for the LCPL Board of Trustees was canceled last week on Monday, October 9, 2023 due to Columbus Day Holiday.
LCPL Director Carlie Pelfrey was in attendance along with Board Trustees, President Marc Lester, Vice President Susie Chambers, Secretary Kim Burchett and James Allen Pauley Barker.
Director Pelfrey discussed a donation to the Lawrence County Schools for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The Board had approved a donation of $15,000 earlier this year. A Motion was made by Marc Lester to donate $5,000 to the Lawrence County Schools quarterly until $15,000 has been exhausted.

Looks like they do have more money than they need. Giving away thousands of tax payers money. The Library has hit the Lawrence County Lottery. Start on that second story expansion.
Sigh, people like you are the reason we need these programs. This goes to show there should be more people attending library events and getting use out of the free books and resources available.
I’m not even a fan of the director at this point, but does that mean I want to see the library fail? No. It’s a much needed resource for this community thst has nothing to do with my feelings or anyone else’s feelings toward an individual(s).
Why are you right wing nut jobs so opposed to free education and resources for families? Take a look at yourself. You’re moaning about the library and their funding. Just because the library can put together a plan and to save for that plan and cause it to come to fruition, doesn’t mean they have excess funds. That just means the board members are doing their job maintaining and directing funding to where it should go.
Just because the mayor and judge can’t manage the money for the city and county doesn’t mean everyone can’t. Some people actually know how to do checks and balances because we went to school and took advantage of free resources granted by the library and similar sources of knowledge.
Along with the Carlie yes clones. Trying to figure ways to spend their extra millions.
LOL. Saving money for projects. Have you been on another planet? The library has so much tax money coming in that the state makes them spend it before it accumulates to millions upon millions of dollars. They just gave away 15,000 dollars. Does that sound like they’re saving for projects. Us right wing nut jobs are objecting because its coming out of our pockets. The library does not need several millions for nobal causes and charity.
They “gave away” money, because that’s something they budgeted for. That’s included in the “projects” that I already mentioned. That IS a project. I know some people are dense, but come on man. And what is a nobal cause??
