September 24, 2022, Pikeville, KY – The Lawrence County Middle School Football team traveled back to Pike County KY, this time to face off with Pike Central Middle School.
The Bulldogs controlled the game from the start and were able to get a running clock by half time and another “goose egg” on defense. Once again, many of the Bulldogs starters were able to rest after one half of play.
Caven Williams was named player of the bowl game with 100 yards on 5 carries and two rushing touchdowns. Kaden Johnson had one rushing touchdown and two 2-point conversions. Mitchell Frazier was 5 for 5 with 2 touchdown passes and one 2-point conversion pass. Andrew Ratcliffe had one touchdown reception and one 2-point conversion reception. Ty Brooks had 2 catches and one touchdown reception. Carlo Chicko also had a reception and several carries. The Bulldogs will have a bye week because of 2 different teams forfeiting games.

COACH’S QUOTE
“…Our team continues to get better. NO pre-snap penalties for this team is a big deal. We were able to get some younger players in the game, but the running clock stops them from getting many reps. I’m very disappointed in all these schools canceling games that were on the schedule since May. Two conference opponents decided to just not play us but are going to play each other instead. I guess integrity is a hot commodity in middle school coaching.”
Player Quote: Ty Brooks (TE/DL):
…”Happy and proud of my teammate Caven to get the player of the game. With the other teams not wanting to play us, we will get a chance to work on fundamentals this week and get even better.
Another great win for this team, hats off to the coaches again, its sad that you got a team this good and dedicated to the game and you have teams to just forfiet, that shows you how special this team is, offence, and defense. Hopefully they wont cancel when playoffs start.
Where can I find schedules and scores for the LMS football team? I have searched and searched.
We will see what we can do.
Thank you. I’d really appreciate it.
