LC FISCAL COURT WILL RECEIVE FUNDS FROM SALE OF THE LC COMMUNITY CENTER TOMORROW…

The Lawrence County Fiscal Court had a Special Meeting on Monday June 29, 2026 at 10AM at the Lawrence County Courthouse, 122 S. Main Street, Downtown, 2nd Floor, Louisa, Kentucky 41230. LC Judge Executive Phillip Carter was in attendance along with the LC Magistrates including David Pinson, Rick Blackburn, Michael Mouse Halcomb and John Scaggs.

APPROVE JUNE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

The June 16, 2026 Regular Meeting Minutes was unanimously approved with a Motion by David Pinson and seconded by Michael Mouse Halcomb.

APPROVE TREASURERS REPORT

LC Treasurer Josh Puckett said, “We have improved financially since our last court date. We have been able to cover all the bills and payroll, all the things we were supposed to do. We did have to borrow for short term but we put in right back. We have money in the General Fund, Road Fund and 911. So we are also able to resume normal spending.” Motion by David Pinson and seconded by Michael Mouse Halcomb.

APPROVE BILLS

Puckett said, “These are the bills that we received since our last court date, that have been paid.” Motion by Michael Mouse Halcomb and seconded by David Pinson.

APPROPRIATION LINE-ITEM FIXES

Puckett said, “This is moving money within the different funds to make sure the line-items are not overdrawn. We have to have a spent budget by tomorrow.” Motion by David Pinson and seconded by John Scaggs.

SECOND READING OF BUDGET AMENDMENT 1 and 2

Amendment 1 is the General Fund and Amendment 2 is for the Jail Fund. Both Amendments were unanimously approved by Rick Blackburn and seconded by Michael Mouse Halcomb.

FIRST READING OF BUDGET AMENDMENT 3

Amendment 3 is the new account opened to deposit funds from the sale of the community center to the Lawrence County School. Amendment 3 was unanimously approved with a Motion by John Scaggs and Seconded by Michael Mouse Halcomb.

COMMENTS

LC Schools Superintendent Katie Webb said, “We received the funds from the Bond sale late last week for the community center. We do have the check but we need to finalize the Deed and do closing. Would you all be available tomorrow?”

Carter said, “Yes”

Webb said, “Then we can hand the check off to you tomorrow.”

  11. ADJOURN – Motion by Rick Blackburn and 2nd by Michael Mouse Halcomb.

The next Regular Scheduled Monthly Meeting will be held on Tuesday July 21, 2026 at the Lawrence County Courthouse at 10AM.
