Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland
Ashland, Ky. (May 16, 2017) – On Sunday May 14, 2017 the Kentucky State Police Post 14 received a complaint at 9 Griffith Branch Road in Lawrence County of a prowler near the residence. The caller also reported he had located several items on his property, which did not belong to him.
Trooper Forest Newsome responded and began an investigation. During the course of the investigation he was able to locate the rightful property owner and return the stolen items. While conducting a neighborhood canvas information and additional evidence was obtained which led to the arrest of Keith Allan Hammons.
Keith Allan Hammons, age 50, of Rockholds, KY was arrested on May 14, 2017, lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center and charged with the following:
Burglary 1st Degree
Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (On Foot)
Giving Officer False Name or Address
(Execution of Knox County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant)
· Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
· Assault 3rd Degree-Police Officer or Probation officer
· Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. .08 (Aggravating Circumstances)
· Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st degree (On Foot)
· Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess
· Resisting Arrest
· Persistent Felony Offender

Theft by Unlawful Taking $500 or More but under $10,000
Persistent Felony Offender

Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland Arrest Greenup County Couple on Felony Charges, unlawful imprisonment
Ashland, Ky. (May 17, 2017) – On January 26, 2017 the Kentucky State Police Post 14 received a complaint involving the possible abuse and neglect of three juveniles at a residence on Lucerine Lane in Greenup County.
Trooper Patrick Hamilton responded with Greenup County Department of Social Services and began an investigation into the allegations. Evidence and information obtained at the scene and during the course of the investigation were consistent with the allegations. It was determined Franklin and Sandra Torres had failed to report allegations of sexual abuse to the appropriate authorities.
The couple had also placed bars on the windows and used a padlock to secure the door of a bedroom at the residence with the intent of keeping a juvenile locked in the room. The incidents occurred over an extended period of time dating back to 2016.
Sandra Torres, age 53, of Greenup, KY was arrested on May 17, 2017, lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center and charged with the following:
Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree
Failure to report Child Neglect/Abuse 1st Offense
Franklin Torres, age 52, of Greenup, KY was arrested on May 17, 2017, lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center and charged with the following:
Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree
Failure to report Child Neglect/Abuse 1st Offense
