Lawrence County Schools Celebrates KSA Success, Looks Ahead
Lawrence County Schools recently received the official results from the 2024-2025 Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA). These scores, from assessments taken by students in grades 3-12, give us a snapshot of student learning and help us plan for improvement.
Understanding the School Colors

Our key focus areas for the 2025-2026 school year will be improving writing skills across all subjects and providing increased in-district support for any LC schools currently rated orange. We are dedicated to ensuring every student gets the assistance they need to succeed.
“We are celebrating our success areas, especially the outstanding blue rating at Fallsburg Middle, but our goal for the next KSA is a yellow (Medium Performance) rating or higher across the board at all schools!” said Katie Webb, Superintendent of Lawrence County Schools. “While the KSA is a valuable tool, parents should also look at their child’s classwork, district assessments, and teacher feedback to get a complete picture of their child’s learning and growth. We are using this data to drive specific improvements in writing in all of our subject areas and support our orange-rated schools, working together to achieve green and blue throughout the district.”
We encourage all families to ask their school principal or child’s teacher for more information about these results and how we are working together for a great year of learning.
