COLD WEATHER. RAINS, AND THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY WEEKEND PERIOD CAUSE NEIGHBORING COUNTIES NUMBER OF ARRESTS TO GO IN MAJOR DECLINE…BUT LAWRENCE COUNTY ARRESTS RATE STAYS AT STEADY PACE, WITH LAWRENCE COUNTY MAKING UP OVER 20% OF ARRESTS IN PAST 8+ DAYS.
In the past 8+ days from 5:18 P.M. November 16 thru to 11:59 P.M. November 24, there were at least 66 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky, Out of those 66, 14 of those arrested were from Lawrence County.
That is in comparison to the previous 8 days from 3:15 P.M. November 8 thru to 5:18 P.M. November 16, there were at least 77 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 77, 16 of those arrested were from Lawrence County.
For a further comparison, for the previous period of 7 & 1/2 days, from 12:01 A.M. November 1 thru to 3:10 P.M. November 8, there were at least 96 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 96, 20 of those arrested were from Lawrence County.
Six Lawrence County residents were arrested in other Ky. counties ( 2 in Johnson County, 1 in Martinn County, 1 in Pike County, 1 in Greenup County, and 1 in Shelby County ). That is compared to 3 Lawrence County residents busted and listed in the previous arrest report last week.
The number of inmates booked at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville Sunday morning 9:00 A.M., November 25, was 230.
The names and criminal charges of the latest 14 Lawrence County arrests, as well as the 6 Lawrence County residents arrested in other county jurisdictions, are the following:
Jimmy Yates Jr., 53, of Louisa, was arrested on November 16, 2018, at 5:50 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Department, and was charged with:
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ ETC. .08 – 3RD OFFENSE,
• POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON.
Arnold B. Mills, 26, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on November 17, 2018, at 10:26 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Department, and was charged with:
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED.
Ashley D. Dillon-Sheppard, 36, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on November 17, 2018, at 10:26 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Department, and was charged with:

“a deputy” with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is getting a lot of arrest. Seen Mark Wheeler only had one arrest. Seems he’s losing out to “a deputy”!
