A Lawrence County grand jury met this week and handed down a slew of charges, one an 18 count indictment for 18 different weapons by a convicted felon who is not allowed to have even one.
Here’s a list of them and what the GJ reported out.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Shadrick Case
The grand jury charges: That on or before September 18th, 2024, in the Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above named defendant:
1. Shadrick Case acting alone or in complicity with Vina McCormick committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree > 2 grams (Methamphetamine) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 29.00 grams of Methamphetamine, with the intent of trafficking in that controlled substance, or by Trafficking in Methamphetamine, namely approximately 29.00 grams of Methamphetamine.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Vina McCormick
The Grand Jury charges: That on or before September 18th, 2024, in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, in the above-named defendant:
1. Vina McCormick acting alone or in complicity with Shadrick Case committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree > 2 grams (Methamphetamine) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 29.00 grams of Methamphetamine.
2. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle while under the influence of Alcohol/Drugs (1st) Offense or Greater Within Five (5) years by operating a Motor Vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle.
3. The above-named defendant committed the offense Failure to wear Seatbelt by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle without having a seatbelt properly adjusted and fastened.
4. The above-named defendant committed the offense of No Registration Receipt by knowingly and unlawfully failing to have in his possession the registration receipt issued by the cabinet through the county clerk’s office for the motor vehicle he was operating.
5. The above-named defendant committed the violation of Failure to Produce Insurance Card by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway without an Insurance Card as defined and required in KRS: 304.39-117.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Corielynne Ervin
The Grand Jury charges: That on or before August 14th, 2024, in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Corielynn Ervin committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, namely 35.992 grams of Methamphetamine.
2. Corielynn Ervin committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third (3rd) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of seventeen (17) dosage units of Gabapentin, a schedule V controlled in possession of Marijuana.
3. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Possession of Marijuana by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Marijuana.
4. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Possession/ Use Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of two (2) glass smoking pipes containing chemical residue.
5. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor by knowingly and unlawfully being a parent, guardian or person legally charged with the care or custody of a Minor and failing or refusing to exercise diligence in the control of such child to prevent that child from becoming a neglected, dependent, or delinquent child.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. William E. Moore
The Grand Jury charges: That on April 14th , 2024, in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the fining of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. William E. Moore committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of an Armsco Brand .22 caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of three (3) prior felonies out of the State of Ohio.
2. William E. Moore committed the offense of Possession/ Use Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of glass smoking pipes and digital scales.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Ashely Adams
The Grand Jury charges: That on or before September 4th, 2024, in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Ashley Adams acting alone or in complicity with Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree > 2 Grams (Methamphetamine) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 157.00 grams of Methamphetamine $777.00 in cash monies, digital scales, transaction ledger and assorted baggies, with the intent of trafficking in that controlled substance, or by Trafficking, or by Trafficking in Methamphetamine, namely approximately 58.016 grams of Methamphetamine.
2. Ashley Adams acting alone or in complicity with Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Aggravated Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree (Fentanyl) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 33.00 grams of Fentanyl, $777.00 in cash monies, digital scales, transaction ledger and assorted baggies, with the intent of Trafficking in that Schedule II Narcotic, or by trafficking in that Fentanyl, of any quanity.
3. Ashley Adams acting alone or in complicity with Kenneth Ison committed the offense Trafficking Marijuana (Less than eight ounces) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 33.00 grams of Marijuana, with $777.00 dollars in cash monies, digital scales, transaction ledger and assorted baggies, with the intent to traffic in that 33.00 grams of Marijuana or by trafficking in that 33.00 grams of Marijuana.
4. Ashley Adams action alone or in complicity with Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession/ Use Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of an altered glass smoking pipe.

The Grand Jury charges: That on September 4th, 2024, in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Rohm brand .22 caliber revolver handgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felon.
2. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Taurus brand .22 caliber revolver handgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
3. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Unknown brand double action revolver handgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
4. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Ruger brand .22 caliber revolver handgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
5. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Bersa brand .380 caliber revolver handgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
6. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of Handgun by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a BeeBee Arms brand .380 caliber revolver handgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
7. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Taurus brand .22 caliber revolver handgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
8. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Winchester brand 30.30 caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
9. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a High Standard brand .22 caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
10. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Marlin Arms brand .22 caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
11. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Knight Rifle brand .50 caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
12. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Legacy Sport brand 12-gauge shotgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
13. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Remington Arms brand .22 caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
14. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Remington Arms brand 12-gauge shotgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
15. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Champion Arms brand 20-gauge shotgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
16. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Marlin Firearm brand .22 caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
17. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of Marlin Firearm by a brand .22 caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
18. Kenneth Ison committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Winchester brand .410 gauge shotgun after having been previously convicted of a prior felony.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Robin L. Jarrell
The Grand Jury charges that from May 24th, 2024, through July 7th, 2024, in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Robin L. Jarrell committed the offense of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, over $500.00 under $10,000, by intentionally defrauded Phyllis G. Jarrell of Louisa, Ky, by using, for the purchase of obtaining money, goods or services, and/ or anything else of value, without consent of the cardholder, with a total loss of $1,286.00.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Homer Hale
The Grand Jury charges: That on or before October 10th, 2024, in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding or the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Homer Hale acting alone or in complicity with Clina Goble and Shona Daniel committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree > 2 grams (Methamphetamine) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine, a set of Digital Scales, with the intent of trafficking in that controlled substance, or by Trafficking in Methamphetamine.
2. That the defendant, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count(s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the Second (2nd) Degree for the reason that the Defendant, now more than twenty-one years of age, was previously convicted of a prior felony when he/she was at least eighteen years of age, which sentence imposed a term of imprisonment of one year or more, and that the offender either: (a) completed service of the sentence the previous felony offense within five (5) years of the date of commission of instant offense; or (b) was on some form of legal release, or discharged from legal release, within five years of commission of the instant offense; or (c) was in custody or escaped from custody of said previous felony at the time of the commission of instant offense.
3. Homer Hale committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second (2nd) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of two (2) dosage units of Suboxone (Buprenorphine), a schedule III – controlled substance, with the intent to traffic in that Schedule III Controlled Substance, Suboxone or by trafficking in that Controlled Substance.
4. Homer Hale committed the offense of Possession/ Use Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of two (2) glass smoking pipes.
5. The above-named defendant committed the violation of Failure To Signal by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway without using the proper and/or required signals as defined in KRS: 189.380.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Cynthia Broyles
The Grand Jury charges: That on or before May 8th, 2024, in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the Indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Cynthia Broyles committed the offense of Engaging in Organized Crime by knowingly and unlawfully committing or conspiring or attempting to commit, or acting as an accomplice in the commission of, the offense of Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $1,000.00 on a continuing basis with three (3) or more of the following individuals: Christmas Rigsby and Debra Copley, Keith Wiley.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Deborah Copley
The Grand Jury charges: That on or before May 8th, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment, herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Deborah Copley committed the offense of Facilitation To Commit Engaging in Organized Crime by knowing and unlawfully committing or conspiring or attempting to commit, or acting as an accomplice in the commission of, the offense of Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $1,000.00 on a continuing basis with three (3) or more of the following individuals: Cynthia Broyles and Keith Wiley, Christmas Rigsby.

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before May 8th, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding or the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Christmas Rigsby committed the offense of Engaging in Organized Crime by knowingly and unlawfully committing or conspiring to commit, or acting as an accomplice in the commission of, the offense of Burglary in the Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $1,000.00 on a continuing basis with three (3) or more of the following individuals: Cynthia Broyles and Debra Copley, Keith Wiley.

1. Keith Wiley committed the offense of Engaging in Organized Crime by knowingly and unlawfully committing or conspiring or attempting to commit, or acting as an accomplice in the commission of, the offense of Burglary in the Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $1,000.00 on a continuing basis with three (3) or more of the following individuals: Cynthia Broyles and Debra Copley, Christmas Rigsby.

There appears to be a typo where it says Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Robin L. Jerrell because underneath that it states Robin L. Ferrell and the alleged victim’s name is stated as Phyllis G. Jarrell. So you may want to double check these to be sure. Just wanted you to know.
