Foundation for the Tri-State Awards First Ever Grant from the Lawrence County Community Fund to the Lawrence County Humane Society.

LOUISA, KY –The Foundation for the Tri-State Community is pleased to announce the first grant from the Lawrence County Community Fund, awarding $1,000 to the Lawrence County Humane Society Animal Shelter. This grant will help the Lawrence County Humane Society continue its work serving both animals and the people who care about them.

Created years ago, through generous local contributors, the Lawrence County Community Fund was established to support charitable work in the Lawrence County. Moving forward, the Foundation for the Tri-State plans to make small, annual grants from the Lawrence County Community Fund to support nonprofits serving the local community.

The Foundation for the Tri-State Community, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) community foundation located in Ashland, KY and Huntington, WV.  The Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in the Tri-State area by encouraging, raising, administering and distributing gifts for charitable, cultural, educational and scientific purposes.
