4.A. Superintendent’s Update
4.A.1. January weather’s greatest impact has been that students are not in our classrooms. Traditional Snow Days and NTI Days will bring school calendar adjustments.
4.A.2. The LCHS Choir will perform the National Anthem at the 2025 KSBA Annual Conference and our JROTC Color Guard will present the National Colors. (February 21-23 in Louisville)
4.A.3. A $10,000 donation by the Lawrence County Youth Football League will be used to revitalize the original football concession stand now being used for storage.
4.A.4. Blaine Elementary has been awarded the Reading Diagnostic and Intervention Fund Grant (K-3) to implement structured literacy interventions, instructional training, and other resources with an approximate value of $40,000.
4.A.5. Our Lawrence County Aspiring Leadership Program facilitated by CAO Myram Brady is designed to nurture professional growth and future leaders; 25 educators currently participating.
4.A.6. District Middle School Kentucky Governor’s Cup is scheduled for Saturday, January 18.
4.A.7. The January LCS Security Committee Meeting has been rescheduled because of the inclement weather.

5.D.3.e. Permission for the district to apply for the Kentucky Numeracy Counts Grant, a KDE competitive grant for acquiring Highly Qualified Instructional Resources (HQIR) and/or Curriculum Based Professional Learning (CBPL) for grades K-3
5.D.3.f. Permission for FRYSCs to apply for Operation UNITE Grants, which focus on youth prevention program to empower youth to remain free from alcohol, tobacco/vaping, and other drugs and to become leaders within their school and community
