4.A. Superintendent’s Update
4.A.1. Lawrence County had tremendous success at Student Technology Leadership Program State Championship including Blaine Elementary (Blaine News Network – Level 3), Louisa Middle School (B.L.U.E. Grass Project – Level 3), and Fallsburg Middle (Digital Window- STATE CHAMPIONS out of 574 projects presented).
4.A.2. Louisa East Elementary’s Academic Team was notified last week that they are the 2024 Elementary Future Problem Solving STATE CHAMPIONS.
4.A.3. Spring Bridge Day included discussions with Dr. Marc Lester, participation in the Reality Store activity, and inclusion in a scavenger hunt at the high school.
4.A.4. The LCHS Biology Class (Mrs. Horn’s class) participated in the Yatesville Lake Spring Clean-up.
4.A.5. Lawrence County Schools’ students and staff participated in attendance competitions for four weeks with positive results.
4.A.6. The LCHS Carpentry Class and our maintenance team added a concrete walkway between the tennis building and the lower court. Plans for another walkway from the high school to the football field parking lot are “in the works.”
4.A.7. The state legislature, at this point, has approved one of the best education budgets in recent memory, and the Board will consider a potential raise for all certified employees with the new budget. (Classified occurred at Christmas.)
4.A.8. The Lawrence County Central Office team has listed a set of goals to be accomplished by June 30th of this year.
