LAWRENCE CO. ADVANCES TO 58TH DISTRICT TITLE GAME WITH BLOWOUT OF BETSY LAYNE

Eastern, Ky. — In the opening round of 58th District Boys tournament it was Lawrence County 81-53 over Betsy Layne on Tuesday night at Floyd Central. 

Kaiden Harris glides in for two points. 

Kaiden Harris led the Bulldogs with 20 points, others in double figures were Hayden Perry who added 18 points and Caden Muncy with 14. Kaden Johnson netted 9 points, CJ Waller and Isaah Hughes scored 7 points each, Andrew Ratcliffe chipped in with 6 points.

The Dawgs hit 9 three pointers and went 9 of 14 from the free throw line. 

Betsy Layne ( 7-20 ) was led by Ethan Lance with 16 points, Eli Jarrell had 10 points, Jackson Johnson 9 points, Max Newsome, Caden Hall and Chandler Coleman had 6 points each. 

The Bobcats hit 4 three pointers and went 3 for 11 from the free throw line.

LCHS 20 16 30 15 – 81 

The Dawgs ( 18-10 ) will face host Floyd Central ( 23-5 ) at 7:30 in the Championship game on Thursday after the Jaguars beat Prestonsburg 70-38 in the first game Tuesday. 

Betsy Layne will play Prestonsburg in the first game Thursday at 6:00 in a 15th Region tournament play-in game. 

Isaah Hughes makes a move toward the basket.
