4.A. Superintendent’s Update
4.A.1. Lawrence County High School is hosting the Boys’ and Girls’ 58th District Tournaments this week.
4.A.2. LCHS Principal Myram Brady and CAO Katie Webb have been holding discussions with Morehead State and Western Kentucky University (and others) on the topics of Grow Your Own and dual credit pathways for high school students.
4.A.3. Mrs. Brady, Mrs. Moore, and Mrs. Webb are working with local officials to add a fire science pathway for high school students.
4.A.4. The softball building and turf projects are moving along with the help of the county government workers.
4.A.5. Dr. Fletcher has published three articles thus far concerning the district facilities plan, the local planning committee, and the nickel investment process.
4.A.6. Mrs. Peters completed our portion of the process for investing the LAVEC funds with an expected return of $225,087.80 which equals an earnings yield of 4.76%.
4.A.7. Our current last day of school for students is May 19th.

5.E.1. Bonding Potential Update: Lincoln Theinert, Municipal Advisor, Ross Sinclaire Associates
5.E.2. The Lawrence County Board of Education considers/adopts an additional double nickel equivalent tax rate on real and personal property, which will produce revenue of 12.4 cents per one hundred dollars ($100) of property assessed. For the 2022-23 fiscal year, the District’s five cent equivalent rate is 6.2 cents. The District’s five cents ($.05) equivalent rate changes each fiscal year and may be higher or lower when applied to future tax bills. The District will not begin collecting the additional revenue from this levy until the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The revenue produced by this increase will be dedicated to major renovation of existing school facilities, new construction, and debt service.
