Louisa, Ky After much deliberation and consideration the Lawrence Co. Cal Ripken Baseball/Softball League will give it a go for the 2020 season after a meeting Wednesday at Stella Moore Park.
FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
Update: We are making plans to start playing ball on June 15. Our plan is to play through the end of July if possible.
Coaches will be contacting players to see who still wants to play. As long as we have enough players, we will have a season.
There will be covid-19 prevention guidelines in place. We will work with local officials to develop the guidelines. We do not foresee that players will be required to wear masks. There will be some limits as to how many spectators can attend games and social distancing will be observed.
Due to time constraints we may not be able to get uniforms or only have basic uniforms. Also, again depending on numbers, we may need to make some roster changes or re-draft some leagues. This season will probably look a lot different than past seasons. Our ability to start and finish our season will depend on the cooperation of our families and their willingness to follow the guidelines we put in place.
Unfortunately we will not be able to offer tee ball, as it would be nearly impossible to social distance with children of that age. For those who decide not to play and those in the tee ball league, we will have a procedure in place to give refunds shortly.
Let’s all work together and make the best out of a difficult situation to provide the kids with a fun and safe baseball season.
So the kids that signed up for TBall, are you going to refund our money?
