Lawrence County, Kentucky Animal Shelter

Letter from Jessica Perry, Animal Control Officer

“…Just wanna give a big thank you to Lawrence County, Kentucky – Government, Phil Carter, Lawrence County Sheriffs Office, Louisa Police Department, Lawrence County KY Emergency Management & of course, my shelter staff for all the help today.
Without hesitation, after I made a phone call, everyone jumped into action to help animals in need. Together, we were able to rescue 25 starving animals from a very terrible situation.
With that being said, the shelter is currently closed to intake (dogs and cats) due to being full. (This is our second hoarding case in the past two weeks). Please be patient as it takes time to network animals to get them moved.
The animal crisis is the worse it’s ever been. Rescues and shelters are drowning in animals with no place for them to go. We could use donations!! Whatever anyone is willing to help with. (Food, toys, puppy pads, cleaning supplies etc)! If you’d like to help, shelter is open Monday-Friday 10-3…”
—Jessica
