Mount Zion, W. Va. — The #5 seeded Tolsia Lady Rebels knocked off #4 seed Calhoun Co. 50-29 on Friday night in the semifinals of the Region 4 tournament.
#14 Kalynn Salmons, #22 Jacey Crum and #1 Emily Artrip helped the Lady Rebels to a Region victory over Calhoun Co.
Emily Artrip led the Lady Rebels with 14 points, Jacey Crum and Carly Johnson had 12 points each, Olivia Kelly tallied 7 points, Mckenzie Cassell chipped in with 3 points, Kalynn Salmons and Piper Pack added 1 point each.
Freshman Carly Johnson has improved all season long.
Tolsia hit 2 three pointers and went 12 of 24 from the free throw line.
The Red Devils ( 9-14 ) were led by Lauren Lovejoy with 9 points, Josey Richards added 8 points, Tiara Rogers scored 5 points, Abi Waldron netted 3 points, Ashlyn Boak and Brealle Arthur had 2 points each.
Calhoun Co. hit 3 three pointers and went 6 of 14 from the free throw line.
Tolsia ( 9-14 ) will play #1 Gilmer Co. ( 18-2 ) on the road Wednesday night in the Region 4 final with the winner advancing to Charleston for the Single A State Tournament March 11-15.
