Lady Dawgs Drop District Game Against Floyd Central; Busy Week Ahead

Louisa, Ky. — In a Girls 58th District clash Floyd Central upended Lawrence Co. 52-46 on Friday night.

Jada Patton led the Lady Dawgs with 19 points, Brooke Marcum added 11 points, Maddison Artrip hit 3 three pointers for 9 points, Gracie Woods netted 3 points, Emalynn Kitts chipped in with 2 points. 

Maddison Artrip goes up for a layup versus Floyd Central Friday. 

Lawrence County ( 6-8 ) hit 5 three pointers and went 3 of 10 from the free throw line. 

The Lady Jaguars were led by Reagan Lafferty with 15 points, Maddy Engle had 14 points, Mahayla Grace and Aubree Moore had 8 points each, Jaylin Blanton had 7 points. 

Floyd Central ( 13-4 ) hit 3 three pointers and went 13 of 20 from the free throw line.

LCHS 13 6 11 16 – 46 

The Lady Dawgs will travel to Boyd Co. ( 9-5 ) on Tuesday and then to Greenup Co. ( 6-9 ) on Thursday before hosting Prestonsburg ( 11-4 ) on Friday night at 6:00.

“… I felt like our girls battled hard on Friday night and as long as we do that we will come out on top when it really matters. We have only had our entire team healthy the last 2 weeks while other teams have had their kids the entire time.” 

“… This week is another big week with challenging games that will help us get better. Looking forward to the challenge.”

    It would be nice to occasionally get an update on former lchs athletes who’ve are currently in college. Such as K Feltner.
