Louisa, Ky. — For the second time this season the Lawrence Co. Lady Bulldogs beat the Tolsia Lady Rebels this time it was 42-38 on Friday night in a low scoring affair.
Lawrence Co. is now on a five game winning streak and improved to 12-3 on the year with the win.
Tolsia jumped out to a 11-2 lead after one quarter before the Lady Bulldogs tied it up at halftime 16-16 as both teams struggled to put the ball back in the basket.
In the third quarter Lawrence Co. out scored Tolsia 11-6 to take a five point lead into the final stanza.
In the fourth quarter both teams got a little bit of rhythm before Lawrence Co. closed out the victory.
Neither team has been in the gym much this week because of the weather and it showed.
Lawrence Co. was led by Lexie Ratliff with 15 points, Hannah Rucker tallied 10 points, Kelly Davis and Kendra Spaulding both chipped in with 8 points each and Brooke Neal hit a three pointer to round out the scoring.
Tolsia was led by Mariah Finley with 14 points and 7 boards, Julie Boone had 6 points and 6 boards, Elizabeth Asbury tallied 4 points and 7 rebounds, Sarah Jude finished with 4 points and 4 assists, Selena Browning chipped in with 2 points.

Lawrence Co. will travel to Elliott Co. on Monday night and then travel for a Boy/Girl 58th District Doubleheader at Floyd Central on Wednesday night.
Tolsia will host Calhoun Co. at Rebel Arena on Saturday at 5:30 in the Hometown Invitational Tournament.

“… We started out 11-2 then we kept sending them to the foul line and to their credit, they went 11-16 on foul shots in the first half. Neither of us seemed to be able to buy a bucket from the floor.”
“… I think the layoff hurt us. We will try it again tomorrow. We don’t have time to hang our heads. We play 7 games in 7 days thanks to the snow.”
