‘TRIPLE THREAT’ AWARD DESIGNED FOR STUDENT ATHLETES WHO PLAY FALL, WINTER AND SPRING SPORTS
Monday afternoon, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced its newest student-athlete recognition – “Triple Threats” – which was created in an effort to “continue the national emphasis and the KHSAA’s own efforts” to de-emphasize the concept of sports specialization in sports culture.
To qualify as a KHSAA “Triple Threat,” a student-athlete must have participated and competed in a high school sport in the fall, winter and spring seasons for their respective program.
The hope is to further promote year-round athletes who stay engaged in athletics from July to June.
