Julia “Josephine” Miller Preece , 85, of Louisa, KY, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2016, in Ashland, KY.
She was born November 3, 1930 in Louisa, KY., a daughter of Albert C. Miller and Della Rae Childers Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jefferson Preece of 67 years. She was also preceded in death by brothers John, Bascom, Ishmael, Albert, and Freddie Ray Miller; sisters Emogene Felix, Pauline Cook, and Geneva Fitzpatrick.
Mrs. Josephine Preece is survived by a son Jeffrey Michael Preece, wife Pamela, and a daughter Janet Sue Kelley, husband Jim. Grandchildren: Liz Anne Parsons, Allen Priode, Kimberly Alger, Leslie Preece, Tiffany Mosely, Tyson Preece, and Chet Pelphrey. Great-Grandchildren: Samantha Endicott, Samuel Riddle, Shelby Alger, Michael Meade, Hannah Chaffin, Landon Fairchild, Wyatt Preece, and Easton Preece. Great-Great- Grandchildren: Kendyl Webb and Ryder Endicott.
Mrs. Josephine Preece was a homemaker. She was devoted to her family. She enjoyed raising gardens, working in her flowers, especially her roses, canning, and traveling. She was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 1, at 2pm at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Goble officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family from 6-9pm Thursday, June 30. at Wilson Funeral Home.
