THERE HAVE BEEN 7 ARRESTS IN JOHNSON COUNTY SINCE THE BEGINNING OF APRIL 12; OUT OF THE TOTAL OF 22 PRISONERS FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, AND MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE FROM APRIL 12 – 26.
Christopher C. Helmondollar, 41, of West Van Lear, Kentucky; was arrested on April 16, 2020, at 5:22 P.M., by deputies of the Johnson County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE (2 SEPARATE CHARGES COUNTS).
According to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff Department, a West Van Lear man was arrested on endangerment charges after a shooting incident on April 16.
According to the arrest citation report, Johnson County Sheriff Department deputies responded to gunfire call after Christopher C. Helmondollar, 41, of Ky. 302, in the West Van Lear area, became involved in a heated argument with his wife.
During the course of their argument, the arrest citation said, Christopher Helmondollar fired a 9 mm pistol a couple of feet from where his wife was standing. and there also was a young child in the residence.
Mr. Helmondollar, the arrest citation said, had been drinking and smelled strongly of alcohol. Deputies found a spent shell casing and recovered it, along with a Springfield XDS 9 mm pistol, the citation said.
According to the arrest citation, Christopher Helmondollar had to be removed from his bedroom at gunpoint.
Deputies stated in the report Mr. Helmondollar told them he was just angry.
Christopher Helmondollar was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on two charges of first-degree wanton endangerment. Christopher Helmondollar has since been released after posting his bond at the BSRDC.
Tylor D. Wagoner, 22, of Sitka, Kentucky; was arrested on April 16, 2020, at 6:17 P.M.,by officer Zach Stapleton, of the Paintsville Police Department,and was charged with:
• KIDNAPPING-ADULT,
• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION AUTO – $500 OR MORE BUT UNDER/$10,000,
• DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE,
• ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A MINOR,
• RESISTING ARREST
, • MENACING,
• FAILURE TO USE CHILD RESTRAINT DEVICE IN VEHICLE,
• NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE.
According to an arrest report by the Paintsville Police Department, a Sitka man was arrested on April 16, on several felony charges including kidnapping.
According to Johnson County court documents, Paintsville Police responded to a call April 16 at the Johnson County social services office where they were informed that Tyler D. Wagoner, 22, of Ky. 201,in Sitka, had a child that Wagoner had no legal reason to have and that Wagoner had taken the child from its mother.
While talking with Tylor Wagoner, the arrest citation said, Wagoner was holding the child with its head down and that Wagoner told the officers they would have to “kill him.” The citation said officers were able to talk Tylor Wagoner into handing the child over to social services.
Tylor Wagoner, the arrest citation continued said afterwards, was irate, cursing and causing a scene, and continued to walk away from the officers after Wagoner was told to stop walking.
The arrest citation said the mother of the child showed officers a video of Tylor Wagoner kidnapping the child and driving with the child in his lap while the mother was screaming and trying to plead with Wagoner.
Tylor Wagoner was taken and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on charges of kidnapping, auto theft, second-degree disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest, menacing, failure to use a child restraint in a vehicle and driving without a license.
Tylor Wagoner has since been released on posting his bond from the BSRDC.
Joey Lee Thomas, 33, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested in Johnson County on April 17, 2020, at 8:17 A.M., by Assistant Chief Danny Smith of the Paintsville Police Department, and was charged with:
• THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION PLATE,
• FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD,
• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
Kristy Michelle Hayden, 39, of Flay Gap, Kentucky; was arrested on April 18, 2020, at 6:34 P.M., by deputies of the Johnson County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Dennison L. Hayden Jr., 35, of Redbush, Kentucky; was arrested on April 18, 2020, at 6:35 P.M., by deputies of the Johnson County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Billy R. Greene, 45, of Salyersville, Kentucky; was arrested on April 22, 2020, at 4:37 A.M.,by an officer of the Paintsville Police Department,and was charged with:
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES), 2ND OFFENSE,
• DRIVING DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE – 1ST OFFENSE (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES),
• PERMITTING OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE WITH IMPROPER REGULATIONS,
• NO REGISTRATION PLATES.
Jesse D. Blair, 37, of Hagerhill, Kentucky; was arrested on April 26, 2020, at 1:13 A.M., by deputies of the Johnson County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE,
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 3RD OFFENSE.
AS OF 6:00 P.M., SUNDAY APRIL 26, THERE ARE CURRENTLY 130 INMATES BEING HOUSED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE.
