SOUTH CAROLINA MAN ARRESTED BY THE MAGOFFIN COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE DEPUTIES ON DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGES; ABLES TO GET RELEASED AFTER POSTING HIGH BOND AMOUNT.
A South Carolina man who police say has been the subject of numerous drug trafficking complaints in Magoffin County was arrested on the night of Tuesday, October 15, after Magoffin County Sheriff Office deputies spotted him in Salyersville. The deputies were on patrol in downtown Salyersville when they saw Todd Steven Kreigh, 52, of Lexington, South Carolina, coming out of Speedway. The deputies’ citation report noted that when Todd Kreigh spotted the deputies, he got into his car, but then sat there for the next 20 minutes. The deputies finally made contact with him and asked why he was trying to avoid them. Todd Kreigh responded that he was simply talking on the phone. The deputies then asked if Todd Kreigh had anything illegal in the car. He first said no, but then allegedly turned over a small bag of marijuana.
That legal goofed-up move gave the deputies all the lawful reason they needed to search Todd Kreigh’s car, which revealed about 2.5 oz. of marijuana, an ounce of meth, a small bag of fentanyl, 20 Xanax bars, three THC vape cartridges and drug paraphernalia.
Todd Steven Kreigh was arrested by deputy William Tyler Lafferty on charges of: *TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 2ND OR > – ( > OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), *TRAFFICKING IN MARIJUANA ( LESS THAN 8 OZ.) 1ST OFFENSE, *POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE FENTANYL, *POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 2ND DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, *DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Todd Kreigh was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville in Johnson County; where was given $20,000 cash bond on each of the five charges against him, for a total of a $100,000 bond total; which stunningly, Todd Kreigh was shortly thereafter able to post and pay the huge bond amount, and has was able to get released from the BSRDC.
