September 21, 1948 — October 15, 2025

Ivan M. Burton left this world suddenly on October 15, 2025.
He was born to Clifford Burton and Ogalle Burton on September 21, 1948. He was orphaned at the age of 9 and was in the Foster system in Ohio until he became of age. He joined the army and fought in Vietnam from 1969 to 1972. He was a self-starter and started his own fire protection business, Mountaineer Fire Protection. He remarked to me that he was once a consultant for NASA when they started their space shuttle program. He belonged to the US Military Vets Motorcycle Club, and retired from the club after 50 years. He also belonged to the American Legion.
Ivan touched many lives and helped many people during his 77 years.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jacqueline Robinette, son Richard Sharp and wife, Melanie, two granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter; as well as many beloved friends. I know this to be true, he was cherished, well loved, and will dwell in the hearts of many, always.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home.  Full military honors will be conducted at 3:00 PM.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Burton and his family.
