THIRD TIME IS NOT A CHARM FOR THIS PREDICAMENT: TWILA GAY BARNETT, 62, OF HUEYSVILLE, KY., WAS ARRESTED ON MONDAY, MAY 15, AT HER HOME IN FLOYD COUNTY, AFTER A STATE POLICE SEARCH WARRANT RAID BUSTED HER FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING FOR A THIRD TIME IN THE LAST SEVEN YEARS.
A Floyd County woman with at least two previous drug trafficking convictions has been arrested again on the same charge.
Twila Gay Barnett, 62, of Hueysville, KY., was arrested twice in 2016, and had pleaded guilty in the two separate drug trafficking cases back in 2017.
On Monday, May 15, officers with the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations East unit were at Twila Barnett’s home in Hueysville once again, armed with a search warrant.
During their search, the special KSP drug unit found what was described as a large amount of oxycodone tablets and a number of items typically associated with drug trafficking. They also found two loaded handguns, despite her previous felony convictions.
Twila Barnett was arrested and was charged with:
*First-Degree Drug Trafficking,
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and
*Felon In Possession of a Handgun.
Twila Barnett was transported to and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center in Prestonsburg, where she remains incarcerated.
What does this say about the judicial system? The police arrest them the judge smacks their hand and let them out to do it again.
