Facing Hunger Foodbank Hosts Mobile Distribution in Boyd County

Boyd Co., KY – Facing Hunger Foodbank is making a difference in the lives of the communities they serve by hosting a drive-thru mobile food distribution in Rush, KY at Mt. Olive FWB (21610  SR 3 Rush, KY) on Thursday, April 24th.  Members of Facing Hunger Foodbank and volunteers will distribute food beginning at 11am and will continue until 12pm or until the product is gone; Facing Hunger looks to serve over 150 households, on a first come, first served basis.  18% of Boyd County’s population lives with food insecurity, including 23% of the county’s children.

 

Facing Hunger is a 501 (c)3 Non-Profit organization affiliated with Feeding America, the largest hunger relief agency in the United States. The mission of Facing Hunger is to help feed hungry people by distributing nutritious food and grocery product through our nearly 300 pantry/agency network. We serve approximately 130,000 food insecure individuals, including over 37,000 children. Our service area includes 12 West Virginia counties, 4 counties in northeastern Kentucky, as well as Lawrence County, Ohio.  Please join us in these efforts.  Visit our website at www.facinghunger.org.
