Ethel Parsons, 76, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Ethel was born January 29, 1949 to the late Wayne and Mary (Short) Hunt.
Ethel was a homemaker. She loved to cook and loved her family with her whole heart. She loved anything to do with Alan Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Parsons; son Sylvester Parsons, Jr.; brothers James Dolly Hunt, Lonnie Hunt, and Carl Thompson; and sister Hazel Thompson. Survivors include her children Samuel Parsons, Mary Finley, and Juanita Thornhill (Freddie Thompson), all of Fort Gay, WV; grandchildren Lilly Parsons of Wayne, WV, Molly Thornhill of Huntington, WV, and Robert (Robbie) Aylor of Huntington, WV; great grandson Joseph Finley of Wayne, WV; sisters Nancy Conn of Ashland, OH, Sally Thompson of Dunlow, WV, Lillie Jackson of Fort Gay, WV, and Ruth (Tom) Parsons of Fort Gay, WV; too many nieces and nephews to mention; and special friends Lot and Frankie Thornhill, who held a special place in her heart and were like family.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dave Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Parsons Cemetery on Mill Creek.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 11:00 AM until time of service in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
