THE HOT WEATHER IN THE RECENT SEVERAL DAYS DEEPLY CURTAILED CRIME, AND APPARENTLY ALSO, CRIME-FIGHTING BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AS WELL.
JAIL ARRESTS IN THE LAST TEN DAYS OF AUGUST PLUMMETED IN A STEEP MANNER, ESPECIALLY OVER THIS PAST WEEKEND IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, AND ALONG WITH THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES THAT USE THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER, WHEN COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS WEEKS.
From 12:01 A.M. August 22, 2016 to 11:59 P.M. August 31, 2016; 95 arrested individuals were brought into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of the 95 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in this last 10 day period of August 22-31, 11 arrests were from Lawrence County.
The number of people booked each day from August 22 thru August 31 at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville was as the following: MONDAY-AUGUST 22: 9, TUESDAY-AUGUST 23: 6, WEDNESDAY-AUGUST 24: 13, THURSDAY-AUGUST 25: 8, FRIDAY-AUGUST 26: 19, SATURDAY-AUGUST 27: 6, SUNDAY AUGUST 28: 3, MONDAY-AUGUST 29: 10, TUESDAY-AUGUST 30: 3, WEDNESDAY-AUGUST 31: 18.
From August 1 thru August 31; 395 arrested individuals were brought into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of the 395 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in the month of June, 67 arrests were from Lawrence County.
From July 1 thru July 30; 359 arrested individuals were brought into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of the 359 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in the month of June, 40 arrests were from Lawrence County.
Those eleven individuals arrested in Lawrence County in the past eleven days are the following:
John Moore, 32, of Columbus, Ohio; was arrested on August 22, 2016, at 4:34 P.M., by Chief Greg Fugitt of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

Janna Henson, 37, Columbus, Ohio; was arrested August 22, 2016, at 10:33 P.M., by deputy Mason Keefer of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCE) 1ST OFFENSE.
Crystal V.. Dotson, 31, of Webbville, Kentucky; was arrested August 23, 2016 at 5:21 P.M., by a trooper of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
Angela M. Mosley, 50, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on August 24, 2016, at 1:14 AM., by deputy Dwayne Bowen of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • PAROLE VIOLATION (FOR FELONY OFFENSE), • ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF LEGEND DRUG, • PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE.
Dustin L. Branham, 30, of Louisa, was arrested on August 26, 2016, at 4:24 AM., by deputy Dwayne Bowen of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY.
Troy E. Miller, 32, of Louisa, was arrested on August 26, 2016, at 5:34 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY.
Patrick Blackburn, 20, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on August 26, 2016, at 8:25 P.M., by patrolman officer Jordan Miller of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.
Marcella G. Spaulding, 45, of Louisa, turned herself in August 27, 2016 at 5:56 P.M., to the Lawrence County Sheriff Department to serve a guilty plea jail sentence with: CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
Travis Harmon, 21, of Webbville, Kentucky; was arrested August 30, 2016, at 3:50 P.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • BURGLARY, 3RD DEGREE, • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION-AUTO – $500 OR MORE BUT UNDER/$10,000, • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2ND DEGREE, • NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE, • FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD, • POSSESSION OF OPEN ALCOHOL BEVERAGE CONTAINER IN MOTOR VEHICLE PROHIBITED.
Elizabeth A. Green, 46, of Louisa, was arrested August 31, 2016, at 10:09 A.M., by deputy Karl Adkins of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • KNOW FRAUDULENTLY USE ID CARD OR ELECTRONIC CODE FOR BENEFITS.
Joan C. Kimble, 24, of Lomansville, Kentucky, was arrested August 31, 2016, at 5:42 P.M., by deputy Mason Keefer of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL), • PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT IN PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE, • NON PAYMENT OF FINES. ALSO: TWO OTHER CRIMINAL CHARGES THAT WERE NOT LISTED.
