EAGLE RIDGE GOLF LEAGUE NEWS…
What can I Say? Eagle Ridge Yielded Another League Record!
On Tuesday afternoon, again with threatening rain clouds looking down upon us, the rain held off until the final three holes; then we only had light sprinkles, just enough to get your glove and golf grips wet. Just a wipe with a towel and everything was fine. I had my rain gear out for a gully washer, but I didn’t even open my umbrella. With the inclement weather appearing in the sky, our attendance was down. However, we did have 18 golfers, more than I expected.
Brandon May set a new league record with a net 24. WOO-WE!
This week the League played the back nine, that plays to a par of 36. Twelve under par will raise anyone’s eyebrows. It was an enjoyable evening for golf. It is hard to believe that 17 out of the 18 of the players who participated turned in a net score of par or better. AMAZING!
The course was a little soft, and the greens were receptive. The low gross score was an excellent three-under par 33. Those scoring less than 30 included Brandon May (25) and, Bill Jackson (29). Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that Eagle Ridge could be brought to its knees. Tuesday night, I was proven wrong.
For the night there were a total of 14 birdies and 1 eagle. This is what I call golfing your ball. Remember, only a few weeks ago, the lowest score for the night was even par. It will be interesting to see if these great scores can be carried forward or whether Eagle Ridge will come back and “bite” us again. I would say the latter will happen.
Now for the scores and the highlights for May 29.
