Inspections June 23-27

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (June 23, 2025) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 advises motorists that routine bridge inspections will be conducted across the district this week, June 23–27, as part of a scheduled maintenance project to ensure the continued safety and integrity of the structures.

Contractors will be inspecting various bridges in Lawrence, Pike, and Floyd counties. Inspection times and locations will vary by day. During these operations, motorists should expect one-lane traffic and possible delays in the work zones. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, be alert to crews in the area, and consider alternate routes when possible.

Below is the planned inspection schedule:

Monday, June 23

  • US 23 at MP 10.73 – Allen Bridge near US23/KY 1428 traffic signal in Floyd County
    🕒 Inspection times TBD

Tuesday, June 24

  • KY 680 at MP 15.07 – Harold Bridge at the junction with US 23 in Floyd County
  • Tram Bridge Rd at MP 0.06 – Tram Bridge at the junction with US 23 in Floyd County
    🕒 Inspections from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, June 25

  • KY 1426 at MP 0.15 – Banner Bridge at the junction with US 23 in Floyd County
  • Emma Road at MP 0.04 – Emma Bridge at the junction with KY 1428 in Floyd County
    🕒 Inspections from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Thursday & Friday, June 26–27

  • KY 3 at MP 15.00 – Louisa/Fort Gay Bridge at the KY/WV state line in Lawrence County
  • KY 1426 at MP 4.83 – Island Creek Bridge at the junction with US 23 in Pike County
    🕒 Inspections from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change. The Cabinet thanks the public for its patience and cooperation as we perform these critical safety inspections.
