Dependable Power First KY issues statement on energy executive orders
Frankfort, Ky. (April 11, 2025) — This week, President Donald Trump signed multiple Executive Orders to strengthen the reliability and affordability of the United States electric grid. Dependable Power First Kentucky issued the following statement in response:
“For years, Kentucky’s power grid has been undermined by federal policies designed to promote intermittent and unreliable electricity sources over dependable, baseload power. These executive orders are a critical step toward reversing this pattern of overreach and restoring a reliable and affordable energy future for all Kentuckians.”
“Coal is Kentucky’s primary electricity source, accounting for more than two-thirds of our electricity mix. However, for years it has been unfairly targeted by federal regulations designed to force coal power plants into premature retirement. This has harmed Kentucky and put our economy at a disadvantage compared to other states that produce and consume a lower share of coal electricity. These executive orders will help level the playing field and unlock new opportunities for economic growth and development, especially in energy intensive industries and technologies like AI. They will also help protect Kentucky families and businesses from blackouts that put lives and livelihoods at risk.”
“Dependable Power First Kentucky is thankful for President Trump’s leadership in re-asserting common sense, all-of-the-above energy policies that put Kentuckians and Americans first. We look forward to continuing our mission to educate policymakers about the critical importance of this issue so that Kentucky can more fully reap the benefits of our natural energy resources.”

It’s like the Orange Clown was never president before. Hello, he did serve 4 years as president in 2017 through 2020 and couldn’t stop the power companies from going away from coal. Looks like he pulling the same old scam again.
What you need to pay attention to is the shutting down all the MSHA Offices that protect coal miners and the rule he has delayed that was supposed to go in effect this month that protects miners from silica.

Looks like there is a war on Coal Miners now. Hoopleheads
Power Companies will not invest in Coal Plants. Bottom line is they can’t depend on the government from one administration to the next. Coal in America is pretty much done. We can sell it overseas though. Go figure?
It’s Met coal they are selling overseas they make steel out of it. But what’s so hard to believe is every ton of any kind of coal that is sold overseas is not subject to the $1.10 a ton for the black lung trust fund. I guess it doesn’t cause black lung. Now wait and see if the Orange Clown cuts that tax in half like he did in 2017.
