Myrtle Beach — The Lawrence Co. Baseball team is 1-1 on their annual Spring Break trip to South Carolina.

The Dawgs scored a run in the ninth inning on a bunt from Dylan Whitt that scored Jake Derifield to give Lawrence Co. the lead and then Derifield closed out the victory on the mound in the bottom half.
Will Lafferty cranked his first homer of the year against Harbor Creek.
Will Lafferty had two hits including his first home run of the year, Eli Fletcher singled, Ryan Marcum and Talon Pollack scored a run each.
Braydan Maynard was the winning pitcher in relief throwing two and 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball, struck out two, allowed two hits and walked three. Maynard also doubled and scored a run.
Jake Derifield picked up the save going one inning, struck out one and allowed one hit. Derifield also singled, drove in a run and scored the winning run.
Braxton Davis started and went five innings, struck out two, allowed three earned runs, gave up two hits and walked three.

In the opening game of their annual spring break trip in South Carolina the Dawgs fell to a very good team from Virginia.
Dylan Whitt singled twice and drove in a run, Eli Fletcher singled twice, Braydan Maynard singled and scored a run, Jake Derifield singled and Blake Prater drove in a run.
Talon Pollack suffered the loss on the mound going five innings, gave up three earned runs, struck out seven, allowed four hits and walked six.
Eli Fletcher had three hits in the first two games at the Beach.
