Bulldog Head Coach Alan Short
COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Certainly we have the upmost respect for Coach Ferguson and Boyd County. I would consider them a rival, no secret that they kicked our butt down here last year and we have a lot of the same guys back from that team. And they haven’t forgotten so this one might have meant a little extra. They have had a bad taste in their mouths for over 365 days.”
“… Couldn’t be more proud of our guys. The goal for this season was for us to be built for November when it matters the most. And to beat a team of this caliber that is this well coached on October 31st makes you feel really good about where you are going into November.”
“…I will give credit to Dr. Frazier, our offensive coordinator for calling that play from the one yard line. I’m still in the mindset of just crawling that thing out of there but Luke threw it, Gray caught it and our line did a great job of protecting and the rest is a school record. And that sequence really changed the game.”
“… Very proud of the kids in all three phases, Brayden Queen hitting the extra point after the flag was huge. I was a little upset with him early in the game but he redeemed himself with that one.”
“… No one likes to lose, but I have seen our team grow since the loss to North Laurel, at this moment in time I’m thankful for that loss to them it has allowed us to get better in all three phases as the year has progressed and I think everybody can see that. And that is a testament to our kids from attitude to willing to come and put the work in each day. It’s a special group I like as well as any that I have had. Very thankful, very blessed and very fortunate. We are going to enjoy this one for 24 hours and then get ready for the playoffs.”
