David Eugene Meade, 74, of Fort Gay, West Virginia, passed away on June 8, 2026.
He was born December 15, 1951 to the late Victor Eugene and Virginia Louise (Fluty) Meade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son David Allen Meade and sister Judy Black.David proudly served his country and was a veteran of the US Army.
David is survived by his devoted spouse Marcelle Meade; daughter Tina Ferguson; daughter-in-law Kelsey Meade; his grandsons Jacob Ferguson and Kolton Presley; granddaughter-in-law Marlee Ferguson; great-grandson Kayden Ferguson; brothers-in-law Gary Black, Wilts (Rhonda) Salmons, Lawrence Salmons, and Michael Salmons; and sister-in-law Ruby Shannon. Each of these individuals held a special place in David’s heart, and his love for them was boundless. The family would like to thank his dialysis nurses Lexi, Lydia and Rose for all the love and care they have shown to David.
Funeral services with full military honors will be conducted Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ernie Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Endicott Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home.
