Crossing to close from 7am-7am starting July 8th near Jefferson Street
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (July 7, 2026) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 is advising motorists of upcoming railroad crossing closures in Lawrence County as CSX performs emergency rail repairs.
CSX crews will begin work on Wednesday, July 8, closing the railroad crossing on KY 3 near Jefferson Street.
Work Schedule & Traffic Impacts:
- Location: KY 3 near Jefferson Street
- Closure Begins: Wednesday, July 8 at 7:00 a.m.
- Duration: Through Thursday morning approx. 7 a.m. (weather permitting)
- Traffic Impact:
- Full closure at the railroad crossing
- Motorists must detour
