Buffalo, W. V. — The Crum Mountaineers captured the Wayne Co. Boys middle school tournament for the second consecutive time after a 53-35 victory over Ceredo-Kenova on Saturday at Buffalo.

6’6″ 8th grader Anakin Deskins led the Mountaineers with 17 points, and Carson Castle was in double digits with 13 points.
Mason Meddings tallied 8 points, Parker Stacy and Aiden Stacy netted 5 points each, Lawson Stacy had 3 points and Evan Messer chipped in with 2 points.
Crum hit 6 three pointers and went 7 of 10 from the free throw line.
C-K was led by Tate Dean with 17 points, Kane Petry and Connor O’Bryan had 7 points each, Beau Beckley chipped in with 4 points.
The Wonders hit 2 three pointers and went 11 of 18 from the free throw line.
Crum finished the season 21-1 overall and 12-0 in Wayne County action.
Vinson 45 Fort Gay 32
In the third place game the Tigers avenged two earlier losses to the Vikings to claim the victory.
Jameson Evans led the Vikings with 10 points, Braxton Salmons added 8 points, Zay Maynard and Tristian Smith had 5 points each, Dawson Richardson and Karter Johnson had 2 points apiece.
Fort Gay went 10 for 19 from the free throw line.
Vinson was led by Jack Rash with 12 points, Ayden McKenzie had 10 points, Liam Triplett 9 points, Major Hager and Lucas Pennington 6 points each, Conley Short 2 points.
The Tigers hit 4 three pointers and went 4 of 7 from the free throw line.
