City of Louisa Monitoring East Lynn Oil Leak — Louisa Water Supply Not Impacted

The City of Louisa is closely monitoring the situation in Wayne County, West Virginia, which has resulted in precautionary measures to be put in place for drinking water in that area.

At this time, the City of Louisa’s water system has NOT been impacted. While the City’s water source comes from the Levisa Fork, ongoing monitoring confirms that our water supply    remains safe.

As a precautionary measure, the City of Louisa is conducting consistent water testing and has the capability to apply carbon treatment to ensure continued water quality and public safety should the need arise. City officials remain in close communication with relevant agencies and will continue to monitor conditions closely.

The City will provide updates should conditions change. Residents may be assured that protecting the health and safety of our community remains our top priority.

Harold E. Slone

Mayor, City of Louisa
