Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Senior outfielder Braydan Maynard will be continuing his academic and athletic career at Alice Lloyd after signing on the dotted line.

The Eagles went 3-21 in 2022 but look to be much improved in 2023 and are building the program in the right direction. Former Bulldog Nick Collinsworth is a freshman for the Eagles this season.
Last year as a junior Maynard had a batting average of .337 had 9 doubles, drove in 20 runs and scored 30 runs. He was also very good in left field for the Dawgs.
He will be counted on this season at the top of the Bulldog lineup and will transition to centerfield on defense and possibly asked to contribute on the mound as well.

PLAYER’S COMMENTS
“… What got me considering Alice Lloyd was everything people were saying about the school itself, and when I toured the campus I was amazed how everything was exactly how they described it. Why I committed was because I felt like it’s where Gods been leading me, to a school where I can play the game I love, study and prepare for the next stage in life, and grow and strengthen my faith in the Lord.”
“… Playing for Coach Feltner has been one of the best things that’s happened to me. Through all my years of playing for him, I always hear him say that his ultimate goal is to help turn us into men. He puts that above coaching and it’s changed my life. I’ve learned how to be responsible and to take responsibility, how to be an accountable teammate, how to always give 100% effort in everything I do, and how to work hard for what I want. Just by teaching me these lessons, as a player, I began to prosper and really buy into what he was doing for us.”
“… I have to step up and be a guy that my coaches and teammates are able to trust with the responsibilities of pitching. That was the huge loss that everyone knew we’d have to face so I have to be that guy for this team. As far as leadership goes, all I can do is continue supporting and motivating my teammates as I have been and lead through my actions on and off the field.”
“… Most importantly I give all the thanks to God. He has changed me into the person I am today and has blessed me with some of the most amazing people, Gods set my life on a straight and clear path. My family as well for always being with me, always providing support and guidance, and for the love they always have.”

COACH’S COMMENTS
“… ALC is getting a very talented young man. When Braydan first mentioned to me his interest in ALC, I felt it would be the perfect fit. It’s always a great thing when our kids get the opportunity to continue playing at the next level
ALC has always been a special place for me, and with the upgrades of their facilities, I believe it will become an institution that a lot of regional kids will seek after. It’s amazing the work they’ve done on all of their athletic facilities and campus.”
It was a great day to celebrate all 3 kids signing with Alice Lloyd College. Hey Levisa you should do a article on TK Ellis for volleyball and Logan Southers for soccer. They were the other 2 seniors that committed to Alice Lloyd.
