Huntington, W. Va. — Marshall junior and Louisa native Bryce Blevins picked up win number one on the year as the Thundering Herd beat Farleigh Dickinson 5-4 on Friday in the home opener at Jack Cook Field.

Blevins went five and 2/3 innings in the victory over the Knights allowing four runs, six hits and striking out three batters.

Marshall is 6-6 after sweeping FDU. The Herd opened the season 0-4 on the road at Hawaii and then went 2-2 in Atlanta versus Georgia Tech.

Marshall will host Bradley ( 2-7 ) this weekend for a three game series with Blevins slated to start on Friday night with first pitch set for 5:00.
