Beshear Administration is Failing Kentucky
Frankfort, KY – As Gov. Beshear’s unemployment insurance office continues to fail struggling Kentucky families in need through the coronavirus pandemic, the Republican Party of Kentucky issued the following statement:
“While tens of thousands of Kentuckians struggle to get the assistance they need to pay their mortgages and put food on the table, Beshear’s unemployment insurance director spends her time launching insulting partisan tweets, and failing to meet the needs of the Commonwealth,” Republican Party of Kentucky spokesman Mike Lonergan said.
In March, Beshear hired Stefanie Kingsley to oversee the Office of Unemployment Insurance. Since then, Kentucky has been hit with record-breaking unemployment claims due to the COVID-19 crisis. Instead of focusing her time on ensuring her office meets the needs of Kentuckians, she’s been tweeting partisan insults. (See attached.)
Originally, Governor Beshear charged Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman to oversee the Unemployment Insurance Office as part of her role as secretary of the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. Due to Coleman’s lack of leadership and oversight, the office is being moved to another cabinet. Coleman and Kingsley’s failed leadership have other consequences as well.
“This office is failing in other ways,” continued Lonergan. “Just yesterday, Gov. Beshear finally publicly disclosed a serious cybersecurity breach of the unemployment insurance computer system – despite the fact that it occurred more than a month ago. And last week, Gov. Beshear personally promised to follow up on unprocessed claims of 40 Kentuckians, and yet, according to news reports, less than 25 percent of them have heard back.”
“We’re at a time when the Office of Unemployment Insurance is critical. This office needs real leadership, and it’s time Beshear and Coleman answer why they’ve failed unemployed Kentuckians. They owe it to Kentucky families,” concluded Lonergan.

Getting concerned for the election this fall????
It is a shame that the governor has let the unemployment system.Fail the working people of Kentucky. They have lost their jobs. And a lot have lost their businesses. He needs to lift all this crazy restrictions!!
Oh they just have their panties in a bunch because someone who knows how to govern is making them look bad!
If my memory serves me correctly, and getting laid of from AK Steel right in the middle of it happening I’m sure it does, Republican Matt Bevin closed all the local unemployment offices, reduced the number of employees at the office in Frankfort as well attempted to cut the weekly benefit in half. If the system is a failure it is at the hands of Republicans.
There’s NO WAY I would ever vote for a democrat!!!!!!
