Louisa, Ky. — It’s football Friday night once again and the undefeated Bulldogs ( 2-0 ) will welcome enemy number one into Luke Varney JR. Memorial stadium as the Belfry Pirates ( 3-2 ) come calling in what could be a Class 3A District 8 Championship Game. Under school system guidelines, only family members of the LC football team and cheerleaders will be admitted to the game.
Junior LC QB Alex Strickland has been fantastic so far through two games in the first victory he showed off his legs and in the come from behind victory last Friday over Pike Co. Central he showed he could throw it around a little as well. He has rushed for 108 yards and 4 touchdowns through 2 games, along with 58 yards via the air and the game winning touchdown to Andrew Tackett last Friday.
RB’s Dylan Ferguson is the leading rusher with 265 yards along with 3 touchdowns, Blue Fletcher 64 yards and 1 score, and Douglass Hall 91 yards and 1 score have all been consistent so far.
Danny Hall has been the consummate senior leader for this young group.
On defense LB Caden Ball along with Danny Ball have been stellar on the defensive side. The Dawgs have forced a ton of turnovers in the last two weeks.
The Pirates have played a brutal schedule so far with close losses coming to county rival and undefeated Pikeville 20-14 and undefeated Class 6A North Hardin last week at home 21-20.
Issac Dixon is leading the Belfry rushing attack once again this season with 924 yards and 11 touchdowns he also has caught 2 touchdowns. QB Brett Coleman has run for 323 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Brad Lowe has 36 tackles and Coleman has 30 to lead a stout Pirate defense.
No cheerleaders or cheer parents at the game tonight. The athletic director won’t let them be there just reassuring everyone that He thinks cheer isn’t a sport!

If the regular public can not attend, then their should be some kind of internet streaming for those can’t go to the game?
Anyone who thinks high school sports of any kind holds one ounce of importance is a fool! Any sports anywhere for that matter.
