Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. baseball picked up win number one on the season after a 7-6 victory over Johnson Central Thursday at Randy Keeton Field.

Freshman Boedy Maynard was the winning pitcher in relief, picking up his first varsity win and Freshman Braxton Davis recorded his first career save.
Eli Fletcher had 2 hits including a double, knocked in 2 runs and scored twice, Braydan Maynard had 2 hits and 2 runs batted in, Abner Collinsworth singled, drove in a run and scored twice, Will Lafferty singled and scored 2 runs, Jake Derifield singled and scored a run, Blake Prater singled as well.

Dylan Whitt doubled, knocked in two runs and scored once, Ryan Marcum double and drove in a run, Will Lafferty doubled, Abner Collinsworth singled and scored a run, Braydan Maynard singled, Eli Fletcher scored a run.
Jake Derifield took the loss on the mound.

The Bulldogs opened the season on the road and came up short after falling behind early on a cold night.
Dylan Whitt homered and drove in four runs, Jake Derifield singled twice, Abner Collinsworth doubled, drove in a run and scored twice, Eli Fletcher singled, drove in two runs and scored once, Ryan Marcum singled, drove in a run and scored once, Will Lafferty, Braydan Maynard and Talon Pollack scored a run each.
Braxton Davis suffered the loss in relief.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Monday with a trip to Paintsville before 58th District heats up with back to back games with Betsy Layne on Wednesday at home and Thursday on the road.
