COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Great wins to start the week. Tough stretch nearly a week off. But I thought our guys battled hard and competed hard all week which is the biggest key component down the stretch.”
“… Braxton Davis came in relief at JC and flat out stopped all their momentum and we had several guys step up offensively and then Talan came in to close and was lights out.”
“… At Floyd Central Will Lafferty came in relief on the mound and did the same thing allowing only a single run over the final 5 innings and we really had several guys have nice offensive nights.”
“… It’s a good sign to see that it looks like we are finally building some lineup depth where we are a threat to score each inning.”
“… In the Paintsville game Talan was not his sharpest but still did a good enough job to give us a great chance and then 7th grader Gray Derifield made his debut and pitched a couple scoreless innings. He just pounds the zone with a couple of pitches and competes. Such a good sign to see out of him. Offensively we had the best approaches we’ve had all year the first 3 innings chasing their starter and then we completely went away from that the rest of the way until the 7th inning.”
“ I believe we are on the right track and are poised to make a run.”
