Louisa, Ky — Local law enforcement would like to clarify the situation that led to an increased police presence near the Walmart on US 23 earlier today (JAN. 30/25).

Contrary to public rumors, there was no active shooter in the area.

The police response was part of a follow-up investigation involving a wanted subject whose phone had been pinging in the vicinity. Officers acted swiftly and thoroughly, clearing the area and ensuring that the public was safe.

After conducting a comprehensive search, law enforcement determined that there was no threat to the community, and the situation has been resolved.

We appreciate the public’s cooperation and encourage anyone with concerns to reach out to local authorities for further information.
